At the Living Light Inn, we invite you to make yourself at home. Tucked into a quiet Fort Bragg neighborhood you are away from the hustle & bustle of town, but still only five blocks from the Pacific Ocean! Open all year round we host tourists from all over the world and many international students who come to the Mendocino Coast to study the Art of Vegan Cuisine at the Living Light Culinary Institute.
We are in the process of growing our organic, vegetable gardens that are beginning to bloom right in our front yard as we evolve into a Garden to Table oasis for traveling vegans. Our communal kitchen is vegan and equipped with a Vitamix, Green Star Juicer, dehydrators, and spiralizers for anyone ready to experiment with a plant-based diet. Lively culinary discussions and recipe sharing are common themes around our kitchen table.
We have 8 guests rooms ranging from "Inspiration" an intimate garden view room for two, to "Abundance" up on the 2nd floor with 3 beds where you might spend time with the whole family. Our 3rd floor offers "Peace" and "Serenity" across the hall with an ocean view.
We are conveniently located just a few blocks to all the restaurants, shops and galleries in the Historic part of downtown Fort Bragg. You can walk to Cucina Verona restaurant for a glass of wine and acoustic music or shop for unique colorful gifts at Tangents. There are many cafes and boutiques on Laurel Street to explore. The Skunk Train Depot is nearby if you feel like taking a leisurely ride into the woods for a day. Glass Beach is within a few minutes walk to search for polished glass gems in the sand. Enjoy walking or running on the old haul road that leads to Mackerricher Park with its black sand beach and board walk to the tide pools. It is a short drive to the Botanical Gardens and the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse as well as Russian Gulch State Park where you can hike to a waterfall. The Picturesque village of Mendocino is a short drive to the south.
