Eco-Friendly Lodging for the Conscious Traveler on the Mendocino Coast
As the oldest continuously operating inn in Fort Bragg, the Living Light Inn honors the natural beauty of the Mendocino Coast by creating space for reconnection and rejuvenation for the conscious traveler.
The combination of craftsman style architecture, fresh plant-based food, and modern amenities create an ideal experience. Sleep peacefully in organic bedding, enjoy a stroll or meditation in the garden, drink fresh water from the whole-house water filtration system, nurture your body with an organic meal prepared in our kitchen complete with dehydrators, juicers, and more.
The Inn was built from old growth Redwood in 1912 as a private residence by two brothers from an illustrious local family. From the outset, it was recognized as an architectural jewel. Now there are 9 guest rooms of all shapes and sizes ranging from a romantic room for two overlooking the garden to a family style room that comfortably fits six. Regardless of the guest room, you can rest easy knowing we use non-toxic biodegradable and non-allergenic cleaning products.
The residence was converted to a hotel in the 1940s and purchased by the current owners in 2015. In its lifetime, it has hosted many distinguished guests including a former American President, diplomats, artists, writers, musicians, and a number of world-famous athletes. Numerous publications have featured The Living Light Inn because of its beauty and unique features.
